Since its launch in July of 2008, Current/Elliott continues to evolve denim's place within the fashion realm. The collection pays tribute to denim's history, as well as its timelessness. From the range of washes to iconic fits and silhouettes, the collection fuses innovative designs with a desire to create beautifully tailored product. Unique silhouettes, classic fits, and everlasting aesthetics anchor the designs that are often inspired by the past, yet always looking to the future. They introduced a refreshing vintage inspired, casual aesthetic in the marketplace, and eventually exited the brand in a private equity buyout in 2012. The Joie, Equipment and Current/Elliott labels came up for sale after The Collected Group, the parent of the three brands, filed for bankruptcy reorganization in 2021.
After restructuring, KKR, a lender to the bankrupt company, converted its debt holdings into ownership and then sold the labels to Sunrise Brands
