Paper Denim & Cloth was a premium denim brand founded in 1999 by Scott Morrison diring the premium denim boom. Morrison later sold the brand to start Earnest Sewn in 2004, and Paper Denim & Cloth's quality declined after he left. The brand is considered part of the original wave of contemporary American denim companies that emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s
